Nebula Performances is honoured to be presenting this production as part of The Chee Series -- a program initiated by President, Alice Chee, and founded on the principles of mentorship and the sharing of knowledge - empowering the next generation of artists to reach new heights.

This gripping adaptation by Peter Brook condenses Bizet’s original Carmen into a tightly-focused and intense production, highlighting the work’s most powerful and dramatic elements. Set in a contemporary urban high school, this production speaks directly to a new generation while remaining accessible to audiences of all backgrounds. Technical Director, Lynol Amero, has transformed Nebula Hall into a dynamic theatrical performance venue!

Staging rehearsals for La Tragédie de Carmen

Stage Director David Walsh is a passionate believer in the power of opera to transform our

hearts and minds. The production is updated to current times and is designed explicitly to

place ‘Carmen’ within the framework of real social issues we face today.

Nebula Performances is deeply grateful for Alice Chee’s strong support and commitment to the success of this project. She is an enthusiastic advocate for the arts, eager to provide valuable professional opportunities for aspiring musicians.
