From Giving Back to Getting Spooky - October at Nebula!

Posted by nebulaperformances

Dear Nebula friends,

October is shaping up to be a wonderful month at Nebula Performances! From supporting an important cause in our community to welcoming you back for our favourite Halloween tradition, there’s plenty happening at Nebula this month. We’re so glad to have you as part of our growing musical community.

Coming Up This Weekend: Nebula Returns to the LIVERight Gala

We’re delighted to return to support Liver Canada’s LIVERight Gala on Saturday, October 24, at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver!

After the wonderful experience of performing at last year’s gala, we’re grateful to be invited back for another evening that brings people together in support of such an important cause. At Nebula, we believe music has the power to connect people, strengthen communities, and make a meaningful difference beyond the concert hall. Supporting initiatives like this is something we care deeply about, and we’re proud to contribute our music to an evening dedicated to raising awareness and supporting the work of Liver Canada.

This year’s performance features tenor Wanshuai Yu, tenor Ming-Xuan Chung, soprano Adriana Zaharijevic, and pianist Yanis Hong. We look forward to sharing an evening of music, connection, and community spirit!

And Now… Halloween Spooktacular III Is Just Around the Corner!

Friday, October 30 · 7:30 PM · Nebula Performances

Our annual Halloween Spooktacular is back for its third year, and we can’t wait to welcome you for another wickedly wonderful evening of music, mischief, and Halloween fun!

The artists are ready, the music is brewing, and our very own Technical Director, Lynol Amero, has been transforming Nebula into a spooky Halloween hideaway. Meanwhile, Artistic Director Wenwen Du has curated a wonderfully eclectic programme filled with haunting melodies, dramatic opera, dark humour, and thrilling musical surprises.

Meet This Year’s Spooktacular Artists

* Maestro Norbert Baxa — Guest Artist & Conductor

* Wanshuai Yu — Tenor

* Hannah Ernst — Soprano

* Katie Fraser — Mezzo-soprano

* D’Arcy Blunston — Soprano

What’s in Store?

Expect the unexpected! From the haunting beauty of Britten’s Funeral Blues to the dark magic of the Poison Aria from Roméo et Juliette, along with excerpts from Rusalka featuring the mysterious witch Ježibaba and music from The Phantom of the Opera, this year’s programme promises plenty of chills, drama, and theatrical flair.

And of course, you won’t want to miss Maestro Norbert Baxa and Wenwen Du at the piano together, bringing their four-hand piano virtuosity to the stage in a spectacular musical encounter!

Whether you come for the opera, the art song, the piano fireworks, or simply the joy of spending a Halloween evening with fellow music lovers, there will be something to surprise and delight you.

Costumes are encouraged, so feel free to embrace your spooky side! Come with friends, meet fellow music lovers, and stay for the after-party. At Nebula, the music doesn’t have to end when the final note fades.

Tickets start at $25 — and Halloween is almost here!

We look forward to seeing familiar faces, welcoming new friends, and sharing another unforgettable evening together.

With music and a little Halloween magic,

The Nebula Performances Team
