Ottawa Was Magic — Vancouver Is Next

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre in Ottawa for an unforgettable evening of Hugo Wolf and Benjamin Britten performed by tenor Ian Bostridge and pianist Wenwen Du.

It was a truly special night sharing this music with Ottawa’s art song community.

“You and Ian made magic tonight in Ottawa. You are in a league of your own, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for delving into the cracks and crevices to bring the songs to life. Brava, Wenwen and Ian.”— Cara Gilberto

“Ian Bostridge's concert in Ottawa on May 6th was truly a life-changing experience. Since I have been a fan of his work for more than a decade, my first experience seeing him live was absolutely great. His thorough musical knowledge, his attention to detail, and his genuine enjoyment of the artistic experience not only inspiring, but can move you to tears.Back stage, Mr. Bostridge was open, honest, caring, and humble about his own learning.Pianist Wenwen Du has been my mentor and friend for a very long time. It is rare for a pianist to have such knowledge on how the human voice works and how to make the singer feel confident and secure on stage. When Wenwen plays, she is not just playing the accompaniment, but creating something where voice and piano cannot live without just one or the other. These two musicians in tandem create the perfect duo on stage. Do not miss their performance at the Vancouver Playhouse on May 14th!”— Kevin Liu
