🎬 Maria Callas Movie Night: A Heartfelt Evening at Nebula

On Tuesday, Nebula hosted a special movie night in honour of Maria Callas, and the event was warmly received by everyone who attended. The evening offered a touching tribute to one of the most influential opera artists of the 20th century, and the response from our community was deeply appreciative.

The night felt especially cozy with our newly installed Christmas stage décor, which added warmth and atmosphere to the space. Nebula proudly stepped up to provide snacks for the evening, and this small gesture became an unexpected highlight—turning the event into a welcoming gathering of shared stories, laughter, and connection.

We are grateful to all who joined us. Events like this remind us how meaningful it is to come together, slow down, and celebrate the artists who continue to inspire us.

💫 David Meek & Wenwen Du: Duo Masterclass at Nebula

💬 “David’s advice on audition presentation was priceless — his enthusiasm and understanding of the voice made for an exciting, transformative masterclass.” 💬 “Wenwen connects deeply with her students, helping them overcome challenges in minutes — her wisdom and care make her an invaluable mentor.”

Our recent Duo Masterclass offered singers the opportunity to refine ensemble collaboration, interpretation, and performance communication in a focused, supportive environment. Participants worked closely with faculty to develop clarity, balance, and expressive cohesion.

The session was productive and well-received -- thank you to everyone that joined!

✈️ Airplanes & Opera: Nebula Takes Flight at Pitt Meadows Airport

On November 15, Nebula Performances was invited by Airborne Management to present a unique musical experience at the Pitt Meadows Airport. This special collaboration, titled Airplanes & Opera, brought together aviation and live performance in a setting unlike any other.

Nebula artists Hannah Ernst (soprano), Wanshuai Yu (tenor), Katie Fraser (mezzo-soprano), and Alicja Rokita (pianist) delivered a program that filled the expansive hangar environment with warmth, resonance, and artistry. Their performances transformed the industrial space into an unexpected concert hall, creating a striking contrast between operatic sound and the backdrop of aircraft and open runways.

The event was beautifully received by guests and partners, highlighting the versatility of opera and the ability of live music to enhance and enliven unconventional venues. This collaboration also showcased Nebula’s continued commitment to sharing music beyond traditional stages and bringing the arts to broader communities throughout the region.

We are grateful to Airborne Management for this opportunity and look forward to future partnerships that celebrate creativity, innovation, and local talent.
