Nebula Performances Society is excited to announce I Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo as our second fully staged opera production. We are currently holding an open casting call for all roles, as well as an Assistant Stage Director, and invite passionate singers to apply and help bring this production to life. Artists will work alongside stage director David Walsh and music director Wenwen Du. Applications are open until June 10, with performances taking place August 26, 28, 30, and September 1, 3, and 5.
Nebula Performances is dedicated to nurturing talent by providing a platform where both established and emerging artists can shine. Its mission is to foster a diverse and inclusive environment, strengthening connections within its local community and the broader artistic network of its home in Vancouver, BC.
Nebula Performances is directed and co-founded by Industrial Entrepreneur and Executive Producer, Alice Chee, and Artistic Director, Wenwen Du, and its performance hall was adapted from an industrial warehouse by Technical Director, Lynol Amero. Together, they have created a
multi-purpose space where musical growth and innovation can thrive.
Since opening in 2024, Nebula Performances has proudly hosted a variety of performances,
masterclasses, and workshops – each dedicated to musical excellence, collaboration, and
creativity that promote opportunities for young musicians.
Through its Workshop Series, Nebula presents the "Nebula Chamber Workshop", and a variety of “Art Song Workshops”, offering talented young artists a
supportive environment in which to refine their skills. The Masterclass Series has
welcomed honoured guests, including Judith Forst, Jacques Lacombe, and David Walsh,
to share their expertise and mentor the next generation of artists.
In April, Nebula Performances launched The Chee Series – a program initiated by our
President and Executive Producer, Alice Chee, and founded on the principles of mentorship and the sharing of
knowledge, while empowering the next generation of artists to reach new heights.
The Nebula Pianist Programme explores the art of chamber music and vocal collaboration,
training and inspiring pianists as both soloists and collaborative artists. The Nebula
Chamber Choir, welcomes singers of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels in an inclusive
space that encourages musical growth regardless of experience.
